PAST EVENTS
Mykonos Casino celebrated Mothersday on 11th May by decorating the foyer with pink flowers and handing out treats to all mothers visiting the Casino. The first 10 mothers who won a jackpot over R6000 also received a Spa voucher to enjoy on this special day.
The Langebaan Animal Care and P.L.A.Y (Parents Lobbying for Active Youth) held a fashion show at the Langebaan Yacht Club on Wednesday 23rd April 2008. Mykonos Casino invited 8 VIP guests. Our guests were treated with gifts, vouchers and a 3-course meal whilst being entertained with the fashion show. Mykonos Casino sponsored R2500 to the Langebaan Animal Care and R2500 to P.L.A.Y.
The Weskus Kunste Makietie took place from 3 – 6 April 2008. Mykonos Casino contributed R130 000 to the Musiek Makietie as well as a variety of advertising opportunities. 60 Guests were invited to the exclusive Mykonos Casino Golden Circle where they enjoyed live performances from well-known local and international artists. The guests were seated at decorated tables and treated with a variety of snack platters and beverages. They also had the opportunity to take exclusive photos with all the performers. Branded Casino items like T-shirts, caps, lip ices and sunscreen were handed out during the course of the Makietie to all festive goers and Casino vouchers to the total value of R10 000 where distributed. The festival had an overall positive outcome, all Casino guests enjoyed it.
On Thursday 28th February Mykonos Casino attended the grand opening of Long Acres Wine Estate. The guests, dressed in formal wear, enjoyed exquisite West Coast food with fine wines while entertained by Danie Niehaus and Mynie Grove.
Mykonos Casino held an Appreciation Sports day to all staff thanking them for their hard work over the festive season. Two teams participated over the 2 day period with a variety of sport activities such as volleyball, soccer and touch rugby. Staff were treated with a spit braai and live entertainment. Prizes were handed out to the winning teams and the sportsman and -woman of the day.
On Sunday 24 February 2008 Mykonos Casino treated 16 VIP guests to the Celine Dion show held at Vergelegen Wine estate. A host attended to the guests and each received a VIP hamper with the finest delicacies that they enjoyed on their way to the show. Once at the venue our guests were treated with a cold cocktail snack menu before experiencing Celine Dion’s live performance. Guests were transported back to Mykonos Casino with the same hospitality and friendly assistance and enjoyed a midnight snack (coffee and chocolates) on their way back.
On Saturday 23rd February 2008 Mykonos Casino "went to the waters" for the annual Stumpnose Derby held on the Lagebaan Lagoon. The promotional girls, dressed in casino gear, handed out beverages and goodie bags (including a voucher, sunscreen & a bottle openers) to all the participants. Even though we did not have the perfect weather conditions, all enjoyed the day and the winner walked away with R10 000 in cash!!
On Thursday 14th February 2008 Mykonos Casino celebrated Valentines Day. The foyer and GRO desk were decorated with balloons and chocolates were handed to all guests.
A New years dinner and dance party was held at Boston BBQ.
50 gold and silver card players were invited.
All the tables received a bottle of champagne, streamers and crackers.
Everyone took part in fun games and a R1000 and R500 voucher were given to the winners.
The evening was enjoyed by all and it seems like everyone was going to start the New Year in high spirit.
Each year the Casino Gold card members get spoiled to an evening they will never forget.
This year we treated our special guests with a SWINGING 60’S AND ROCKING 70’S party.
Elvis welcomed the guests and each received a cocktail and peace-sign necklace as they arrived.
Dowwe Dolla and dancers opening the dance floor with a twist, entertained the guests.
The guests danced the night away on the black and white dance floor. This bit of exercise was definitely needed after everyone enjoyed the exquisite buffet that was presented.
We are already looking forward to next year’s party!!
